Locker Room Upgrades (University at Buffalo)

Buffalo Engineering provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering design services for the $650,000 Football Locker Room Upgrades at the University at Buffalo’s stadium. The new University Stadium was built in 1993 for the World University Games and serves as the main athletic facility for most of the sports teams. In 1999, 14,500 seats were added to the stadium to meet requirements for the UB Bulls’ entrance into the NCAA MAC football conference.

Within the west grandstand, various football-related support areas are located including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing utilities. This area currently houses the football team locker room, which required updates to the shower, toilets, sinks, and other support areas.

The Scope of the project consisted of extension of the existing fire alarm system with detection and annunciation as required per code, new lighting controls, new power systems/circuits, new plumbing fixtures, and design to ensure proper air movement.
