Canterbury Woods
Canterbury Woods is a Continuing Care Residential Community (CCRC) providing independent, assisted and skilled levels of elder housing. We have provided engineering services for multiple projects including:
- Addition to the Trafalgar Dining Room: The interior was redesigned as a café with informal and formal dining. Phasing was provided to maintain dining and kitchen services throughout the construction. The initial phase added a 3,000 sf addition to include the 120-seat informal dining, to continue services while the renovation phases proceeded in the formal dining area. The addition’s design also helped resolve the existing serving access issues. The kitchen layout was also redesigned for increased efficiency. A vegetative roof was designed to enhance the roofscape for the resident’s apartments above the addition.
- $1.5 million renovation to the Oxford Village skilled nursing unit: The entire facility was updated, including lighting upgrades, and improvements to the dining area, a new servery, lounges, activities rooms, library and computer center; and updates to entrance, reception, lobby and nurses station, lounges, activities rooms, library and computer center; and updates to entrance, reception, lobby and nurses station.
- Third Floor Memory Care Conversion: Renovation of the third floor of Oxford Village to create a memory care unit with 12 private apartments, and private dining and common areas.
