Moog

Moog is a manufacturer of aerospace and defense industry products. Its 350-acre campus has 15 buildings totaling more than 1 million sf of space. Buffalo Engineering has provided engineering services for more than 100 large and small projects since 2004. Construction costs have totaled more than $60 million. Projects include:

  • Plant 1A/3A Aircraft Manufacturing Facility: New two-story, 92,000 sf, $44.3 million office addition and assembly and testing facility. Building 1A has offices and conference rooms; Building 3A has R&D, manufacturing, testing and support functions for commercial and military applications. eQUEST modeling was performed to evaluate the compliance of the proposed design to the Energy Cost Budget Method.

  • Plant 20 Building Addition: 55,000 sf addition to support new manufacturing space and high end office space. Critical designs included temperature, humidity, space pressurization, and cleanliness controls.

  • Corporate Headquarters: New two-story, 70,000 sf, $13 million office building. eQUEST modeling was also performed to evaluate the compliance of the proposed design to the Energy Cost Budget Method.

Mechanical and electrical systems have included laminar flow clean rooms requiring stringent temperature and humidity control; process chilled water and condenser systems; and in-slab power and data distribution grids.
