Erie County
Since 2001, Buffalo Engineering has provided MEP/FP engineering services to Erie County for more than 100 projects involving a wide variety of building types and spaces. Our engineering work has encompassed a tremendous range of construction projects: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, fire protection and security system/equipment improvements and replacements; energy efficiency upgrades; new construction and LEED design; building condition surveys; comprehensive building renovations; and much more. We have provided services as the Prime Consultant under Term Agreements and as a Subconsultant to various architects. Current and recent work includes:
- New Era Field 2018/2019 Capital Improvements: Includes replacing the Training Center cooling tower, replacing 11 heat pumps serving the stadium’s south side suites, and providing water piping in coordination with the stadium field replacement. Work is being completed under our Term Agreement.
- Rath Building/Erie County Department of Social Services: $1.3 million renovation of the 7th Floor to completely update14,000 sf of space with new lighting, new partitions, new floor finishes, new reception area, updates to lavatories, and the conversion of the existing women’s lounge into a unisex ADA-compliant toilet room, the first of its kind in the Rath Building. The 7th floor conference room was also renovated and includes teleconferencing capabilities for the department’s Child Welfare division. New high security centralized file rooms were also created to safely house client files in a secure but accessible location. We also provided services for the $1.4 million renovation of the 1st Floor and the $750,000 renovation of the 2nd Floor.
- Erie County Sheriff’s Office Shooting Range: Renovations to the existing shooting ranges and construction of two pre-fabricated metal buildings. One building contains a Live Fire Shoot House; the other has classrooms, simulated fire situation training rooms, ammunition storage, break rooms, showers and toilet rooms.
