Buffalo Engineering is the MEP subconsultant on term agreements for professional design services in the Allegany, Genesee and Niagara State Park Region. Projects included: 

  • Humphrey Nature Center at Letchworth State Park: New $6.75 million, 5,000 sf facility with space for permanent and changing exhibits, a year-round visitor area, retail kiosk, offices and storage. Green/sustainable systems designed for the project included: VRF heat recovery (air-source); hyper-heat simultaneous heat/ cool systems; refrigerant/water heat exchanger; high efficiency condensing boiler; radiant heat floors; energy recovery ventilators; LED lighting; daylight harvesting; tankless water heaters; water-less urinals; and dual flush valves. The project also has a 34.925 kW photovoltaic grid tie system with a total of 127 modules installed on the building’s roof.

  • Cave of the Winds Experience: $7 million repurposing of the existing 3,500 sf Pavilion Building to construct the new “Cave of the Winds Experience” attraction. The family-friendly experience focuses on storytelling with exhibits, graphics and media interactives. Program space includes an exhibit gallery with indirect specialty lighting, theater areas, offices, storage areas, and upgrading existing rest rooms.
